Everything came in well packaged and sent with lots of love. Thank you!
Heard good things about this company through Reddit and gave it a try! I decided to be a crazy person and buy all ~55 colors of the normal-size wax sticks, which I then cut up and put in boxes for ease of spoon melting. My apologies to the poor person who had to label every color on the (classy and biodegradable!) packaging. Most sticks cut smoothly, although some cut somewhat like ceramic wax with a hard snap that sent pieces flying. It made me a little afraid that some seals wouldn't have that modern bendy texture, but that didn't turn out to be the case at all.
The colors are beautiful. They're a mix of pearlized, slightly translucent, and shiny matte waxes (it would be great to have full rainbow sets of each of these types). Some of my favorites are Sea Glass, Hydrangea, Peony, Heather, and Silver. They all melt and pour very well, no gloopiness here. Others have said these don't smell bad like cheap waxes do, which I found mostly true. The fumes off the Black color do make me recoil a bit, but mostly they smell more like cosmetics or beeswax with some chemicals in it than straight-up acrid chemicals. I wouldn't say they have no smell at all, that's kind of impossible. Oddly enough, the Cardamom smells like coconut sun tan lotion? For cutting out designs, the wax doesn't cut quite as fast and smooth as more plastic-based waxes do, but it's still very easy to get really nice cut-outs with 3D stamps. I would say it cuts like very-slightly-colder-than-room-temp butter compared to some plastic Chinese waxes that cut like room temp butter. Not a real complaint, just something I noticed about the texture and am including for completeness' sake.
My only real (but very small) issue is that some colors appear to have very tiny bits of what seem to be unincorporated spots of color in them that streak when melted, leaving the seal with darker bits of color throughout. I'd post pictures, but I don't think I can on mobile. These include the Tangerine, Black, and Rose colors, and there may be a few more. The Rose also has white bits in the wax that give it a slightly speckled appearance if you look close. It's not a huge issue, and actually looks charming in some seals, but I get the impression that some of these weren't mixed enough in production? idk, it could just be the batch I got.
Overall, a great recommendation for sealing wax! This is pretty much the ONLY company I can find in North America that definitely makes a large variety of beeswax-based wax colors, which I strongly prefer over pure plastic for health concerns. A couple companies make like 4-5 colors, but none in this variety. I'd absolutely LOVE for more colors to be released!
I bought 25 delphinium sticks and a custom seal our wedding, and they were so easy to use. I made somewhere around 200 seals for my seating chart (only needed 75) and used about 10 sticks. We’ll use the remaining 15 for our thank you notes.
My glue gun has a hot and low setting, and I highly suggest keeping yours on standard or low. The hot setting caused the wax to drip out consistently but it was perfect on standard!
I originally was going to go the old fashioned route with the spoon and beads, but this made the process so much faster and they turned out beautifully!
This is a lovely color, Karen picked it to coordinate with my Christmas cards. The wax is durable, usually makes it through the mail, has a great finish and takes a great impression from the stamp.
I haven’t used the jumbo gun yet— it’s huge! It will be so handy to have. I was so happy with the wax colors tho— they’re gorgeous. I look forward to ordering more of my favorite! The packaging was super—I love wax paper bags so much. Thank you and wishing you all the best in your creative endeavors!
