➢ This can create some fun combinations if you plan out your colors!
➢ If it is important for colors to not mix, you may wish to consider:
- Dedicating one glue gun to one color.
- Cutting pieces of lesser-used colors to melt in our melting spoon.
- Using the glue gun wax as a wickless sealing wax and melting near a flame.
I bought the wax stamp as well as the glue gun and several colors of wax for the glue gun. It was easy to use and worked flawlessly. The different color wax does mix a little inside of the glue gun, so when I used Jade after Harvest Gold, there was a mix of both colors. If you want to keep one solid color, my guess is you will need to run 1-2 wax sticks of each color through the glue gun before the color will be solid. But the mix of colors is interesting too. Overall really happy with the wax stamp and glue gun. The stamps look great, just mailed the first one out yesterday! Thanks!
I ordered a wax glue gun from letters and seals, and was very pleased with the delivery of the wax onto my Rossi envelopes. The Rossi stationery are also spectacular in their simplicity and artistry. No other company matches them in terms of the beauty of the patterns and the quality of the cotton paper.
I've been through two other sealing wax companies trying to find a deep crimson color preferably with some shimmer in it and in both cases the color wax I received did not look at all like the sample pictures online. So when I got to this website I decided to order a stick in every red (standard glue gun sticks) to do an independent assessment. (Note: for these comparisons, I cut off chunks and melted them in a clean spoon to avoid color mixing in the glue gun.) I found these "jewel" sticks are more vibrant and glossy than the "original" wax sticks (the original actually looks dull next to the jewel wax), and most of the colors matched my expectations well. I will point out that the Red Gold Original wax is mostly gold (I'd expected mostly red) and the Red Jewel wax is like a neon red (still true red, just really light/bright). The Dark Red Jewel wax is a beautiful deep blood red and a little lighter/brighter than the Cranberry (dark red) Original wax. The winner for me is the Black Cherry Jewel wax; I worried it would be too brown/bronze, but it actually turned out a dark pearly crimson with a hint of bronze that I suspect is only noticable when it's next to a more true red. I'm very happy with my experiment and ready to order a bunch more in that color!
